Phase One - Disabled Access Ramp - Completed.
For details of the builing phase click here:
At the northwest corner os the church there is a short set of steps coming down to a landing. Then an equally short set of steps leads up to the front doors of the church. While there is a door at the top of the northwest corner, it is narrow and difficult for wheel chairs to negotiate. (A grade II listing means it can't easily be altered.) We have a wheel-chair lift allowing disabled access from the ground floor. We propose to construct a level access platform around the northwest corner of the church. For detailed plans click here: Access Platform.
Phase Two - Lower and extend the platform in front of the pulpit.
Lower the platform, to the level of the first step, and extend towards the two white pillars. Allowing more space at the front of the church for concerts, other events and weddings. For detailed plans click here: Platform.
Phase Three - Remove "Bus Shelter" and change front doors.
The "Bus Shelter" is the nickname given to the internal porch providing draft protection to the front doors. This project in four parts:
- Remove the Bus Shelter.
- Reverse the front doors to open outwards.
- Fit sliding glass doors on the inside with a "Hot Air" curtain.
- Replace frosted glass on lobby with clear glass.
This will make the appearance of the church more open and improve access for funerals.
For detailed plans click here: Front Doors.
Phase Four - Rewire power and lighting.
The electrical wiring and lighting are showing their age and need replacing. There is also a shortage of power sockets in the church. Emergency lighting and smoke alarms are also required. The signalling system requires an upgrade.

Phase Five - Redecorate inside the church.
After all the other work is complete the church will require redecoration. New carpets fitted where necessary. The pews should be stripped and a lighter varnish applied.
Details are on display in the church.
