Touching Heaven, Changing Earth.

 
Pray without Ceasing is an initiative of the Methodist Church, brought about by the 24/7 prayer movement that enthused many Christian young people. During the fortnight of March 17th - March 31st churches throughout the Newcastle District took their turn to focus on prayer. Wesley Memorial Methodist Church Pray Without Ceasing Poverty Prayer Station.Our response at Wesley was Touching Heaven, Changing Earth. The Church was open for prayer throughout the fortnight. Prayer stations in Church informed prayers about our world, local, national and international encouraging us to reach out to heaven and claim God's blessing on behalf of a needy world.

Wesley Memorial Methodist Church Pray Without Ceasing Local Prayer Station. The fortnight has now ended, but the need to pray continues. We must ensure that 'the voice of prayer is never silent'.

Here are some prayers you may wish to use in your personal devotions.

Wesley Memorial Methodist Church Pray Without Ceasing National Prayer Station. I will pray without ceasing,
For it keeps me ever focused on you.
I will pray without ceasing,
For I know your promises are true.
I will pray without ceasing,
For everything, all my burdens,
my fears and concerns have I given to you.
I will pray without ceasing,
For protection, guidance, strength, all that I need of you.
I will pray without ceasing,
All my love, my heart, I give to you.
I will pray without ceasing,
For all things you have seen me through...
Finally, I will pray without ceasing,
For I know I can always depend on you.

Gracious God, for your limitless love;
I give you thanks.

For the way that Jesus taught his disciples how to pray;
I give you thanks.

For your Holy Spirit that inspires our prayers today,
I give you thanks.

Help me to be open to each sign of your grace;
Gracious God, hear my prayer.

Help me to be ready to spend time in your presence;
Gracious God, hear my prayer.

Guide and enrich my praying, as I journey ever more closely to you.
Amen.

Prayer of confession
Sorry about last week.
Things got on top of me.

I walked on by; turned up the volume.

Left you to get on with what was mine to do.

All right, never mind the accidents and the failures,
Let's do a deal:
Sorry for the things that I knew were wrong,
Alone or in company,
But went ahead and did or left undone.

Silence

God, if anyone can cope with us you can.
Here is all the stuff that weighs us down -
You won't look the other way.
But take it off our hands.
Set us free. Forgive us.

And show us here and now,
The people you know we can be
